FROM YOUR GENERAL MANAGER/PRO
Wow! It’s hard to believe that next month the time changes and we will be able to play golf in the late afternoons once again. I know all of you are looking forward to this, as am I. I say this every year, but it is so true. When the days get longer everyone seems to become a bit more happy. The weather starts warming up, we no longer have to rush around to get things done before dark, and we always are looking forward to playing more golf! Our very popular Tuesday night scrambles will begin on March 10, with a 5:00 PM start time. If you would like to be part of these, PLEASE call the pro shop by 4:30 PM on the scramble day. It is imperative to get the correct number of players and who the captains will be. Also, the scrambles are for everyone, meaning it does not matter in the least what type of player you are or what your handicap is. It is intended to be a fun thing to do with all of us playing with people we are not used to playing with. Last year we averaged between 20-30 players each week, and I hope to do this again or even have more play. The Ladies League will also be kicking off their Spring/Summer season with 9 hole events beginning around the same week on Monday nights. Please think about joining them as they are growing in numbers each year. Also, Bill Sivik’s Tuesday/Thursday morning over 55 group are still going strong. They play on these mornings during the year at 9:00 AM with 18 hole scramble formats and closest to the pin contests. They also eat pizza together once/month. Please feel free to become a part of any of these groups. I am certain you will have a lot of fun in doing so. Finally, the Match Play Club Championship matches will begin the first week of the month. Please come in the pro shop and check the big board to see who your opponent is. I have a list of all the players phone numbers to give you, so you can get together and schedule your match. The first match needs to be played from Feb. 1-14, and the next match if you are a winner needs to be played during the last 2 weeks of the month. Good luck to everyone playing in the tournament!

FROM YOUR SUPERINTENDENT
January has come and gone. I’m sure all of us are looking forward to some warmer temps as is the turf around the course. Our course has really had to endure some inclement weather conditions so far this winter. Along with the warmer temps returning soon, so will our turf. As soon as it looks like warmer temps are heading our way, we will be preparing to fertilize and start helping our grass return. Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this cold season.
During this time while the temps around here are a bit chilly, we will be edging fairway bunkers, green side bunkers, trimming all Azaleas, edging cart paths, edging around all irrigation heads. For the most part, detailing the golf course to help make it look that much better.
Now that you know what we are going to be doing, I’d like to ask all of you again a few things to pay attention to. First, in all the bunkers (sand traps) we have rakes, these rakes are not laying there for their good looks, PLEASE use them to rake the trap after you hit the ball out of them. Second, on each cart there are two (2) buckets of sand for you to fill divots on the course after you take a divot from hitting the ball, Third, ballmarks on the green need to be repaired after you hit the green with your shot. Fourth and final, PLEASE pay attention to the ropes around the course, they are there for a reason so please don’t take them down, drive over them or destroy them. We have grass in areas we did not have it in before due to the ropes. Please help out by following these few things we are asking you to help us with.
Ladies League getting set for a great 2020!
